NCERT releases new grade IX Math textbook; Social Science book from September 30

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced the availability schedule for two new class IX textbooks for the 2026-2027 academic session. The Mathematics textbook, Ganita Manjari – Part 2, has been available for sale since September 21, while the Social Science textbook, Understanding Society: India & Beyond – Part 2, will be available from September 30.

Students, teachers, parents and schools can purchase the textbooks through NCERT sales counters, its official website and online portals. The council said the new editions have been aligned with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.

NCERT said the revised textbooks are intended to support the evolving learning needs of students and implementation of the new curricular approach.

The two books are being released according to the approved schedule for the 2026-27 academic session.

The latest release is part of NCERT's phased rollout of revised class IX learning materials under the new curriculum framework. Earlier, the council had also made digital versions of several class IX textbook available through its website.
